Ginger Snaps

Stars: Emily Perkins, Katharine Isabelle, Kris Lemche, Jesse Moss

Ginger Snaps is best described as a 90’s version of “An American Werewolf In London” except for two main differences: 1) It’s based in Canada and 2) This time it’s women in the lead roles.

Ginger and her sister Bridget are goths who are into all things macabre. For their class project, they photograph themselves in a number of post-mortem poses which include Hanging, Stabbing and even a fence impaling. Needless to say as a result they are not popular around the school yard, instead being the brunt of practical jokes and the like.

When something strange starts happening in their home town and the dogs of many family’s are being mauled the girls feel the need to investigate. As a result Ginger is bitten which starts her on a strange transformation that needs to be seen to be believed.

I watched this film on the advice of a reviewer on another web site and whilst it’s not a bad film it’s certainly nowhere near as great as I was led to believe. You know who you are!!

THE EXTRAS

Trailer. This trailer does this movie a world of good and in fact, if you had seen it prior to the film, you would have been led to believe it was a better film than the end result.

CONCLUSION

A ‘B’ Grade Horror Movie at best….
