Batman Returns
Stars: Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer & Christopher Walken
After the mega hit that the original Batman was it was simply a matter of time before a sequel arrived, and here it is.
After the demise of The Joker things have been pretty quiet in Gotham City but all that is about to change. Enter: The Penguin (DeVito) & Cat Woman (Pfeiffer). That’s right, this time round Batman has to battle not just one villan but two.
Michael Keaton reprises his role as Batman although this time around he has a snazzy new bat suit. He still broods around the screen, has the coolest gadgets imaginable and scares the hell out of any would-be bad guys.
If it is possible, Batman Returns has an even darker feel to it than the orignal film did 3 years earlier. Tim Burton is in the directors chair again and it looks like this time around he had total control over the look of the film. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t : this time, it’s the latter.
We still have the spectacular scenery and special effects but the overall plot leaves you wanting. It feels like something is missing and this not only slows down the pace of the movie but doesn’t enable you to feel anything for the characters.

Production Notes
CONCLUSION
Not as great as the first Batman, but is still good for entertainment only… Walken makes the best evil character…
