Another very difficult movie to write about without giving away the entire plot in the process but here goes…..

Set in the distant future, Total recall is the tale of Quade (Schwarzenegger), a man who is about to have his entire existence thrown into complete and utter disarray.

Quade discovers that his life is not what it seems. In fact he is somebody else, he is being chased by unknown pursuers and that everyone he knows, loves and trusts may in fact be the very enemies he is now trying to get away from.

Director Paul Verhoven has made yet another extremely violent film (following on from Robocop) and the blood count is extremely high. If you’re a fan of his work, later efforts include Hollow Man & Starship Troopers, then you will enjoy Total Recall. Otherwise like me you’ll find it terribly lacking in originality, substance and creativity.

CONCLUSION

This is one of the lesser efforts that Columbia Tristar have made. Sure it was one of their earlier releases but this means nothing when you consider that The Fifth Element was one of their first (and Region 4’s) and is still one of the best looking DVD’s you will see.
