Part 3 of the never ending story finds a GROUP of friends heading to the country for the weekend to get away from it all. Their destination - you guessed it, Temptation Island aka Camp Crystal Lake aka Camp Blood, the location of the first two funfests.

Chris (Dana Kimmell) is trying to exorcise a few demons (all puns fully intended) by returning to Crystal Lake, her paranoia is getting the better of her not helped by the annoying Shelly (Larry Zerner) who finds tremendous amusement in pretending to be the legendary Jason.

Jason’s first victims are a motorcycle gang who have been causing trouble for some of our intrepid crew. All three face separate but equally grisly deaths at the hands of the charming Mr Voorhies.

Like all the Friday the 13th films, virtually everyone dies but for the one person who can carry on and spread the story and allow for sequels.

Once again these films are mild compared to the horror films to come but the real entertainment in these films lies in the unintentional comedy as you laugh at the cheap production values and bad acting, not too mention the same theme being played over and over and over again. You may even get a genuine fright or two out of these films.

There are quite a few strange camera angles no doubt a result of the original 3D release in the cinema’s. To be honest, the 3D would have been nothing more than a gimmick if the shots intentionally shot for 3D are any indication. Most of the footage shot for 3D had little to do with the murders.

CONCLUSION

The formula was starting to get old by the 2nd instalment, in this, the third, there is nothing left to show. However, these films are always good for a bit of a laugh and SHOW just how far the horror genre has come in the last 20 years.
