Paramount decided to go all out in this ‘The Final Chapter’ (uh-huh) by combining two of the scariest people in the one blockbuster - Jason Voorhies and Corey Feldman!

With two consecutive yet separate mass fun time killing sprees, the residents of Crystal Lake still persist on calling this wonderful place home. This movie starts off with the removal of Jason’s body, who was killed in the last film by ambulance. No doubt this is the last we will see of the severely misunderstood Mr Voorhies.

In this, the ‘final’ instalment in the series, we have two sets of victims, er, vacationers who have come to Crystal Lake for some time away from it all (their tourist bureau is doing a marvellous job!). One is a single mother and her children, a teenage daughter and younger brother (Feldman, aah!). Across the road we have your GROUP of die young stay pretty young adults who are there to have sex, smoke some weed and die a horrible death.

As you might expect this film is a derivative of the previous three and as you probably know this is far from ‘The Final Chapter’ although the ending of this film is quite a bit darker and somewhat different from the first three films. Ironically, it was this ‘Final Chapter’ which best paved the way for the myriad of sequels to follow.

CONCLUSION

It’s too bad this is the final instalment, this franchise has so much life left in it (as always, all puns are intended). Seriously though this story ran out of ideas by the end of the first film, by this, the fourth instalment it was simply a matter of the same things happening to different people.
