My Bloody Valentine

This is a classic B-grade horror with no well-known stars and amazingly is available in thirteen different languages. It consists of a light plot with very light characters, surprisingly there aren’t your average number of big breasted women and not one of them gets naked, sorry boys.
The story is set in a small American town called Valentine. The closest work for the men is the local mine where most of the movie is shot. It’s based around the local GROUP of teens who are really looking forward to the Valentine’s Day dance. The dance hasn’t been held for twenty years and the whole town is covered with red and pink hearts and streamers to celebrate. For three teens it’s a tough time. T.J. is frustrated he’s lost his girlfriend, Sarah to a fellow worker called Axel. It’s his own fault though, HAVING left town to try to pursue a life other than the one set by the little town. He’s failed though and his father makes sure he has a job at the mine. But twenty years ago there was a disaster in the town when five miners were left underground while the rest of the town went to the Valentine’s dance. There was a big explosion and after six weeks of searching for survivors one was found, Harry Warden. He couldn’t cope with the trauma and was sent to the local mental hospital where he was finally released a year later. He wasn’t at all back to his normal self and began to kill. He was convicted and sent to prison claiming if the town ever had another dance there would be hell to pay. After twenty years surely it’s safe though.
When boxes for Valentines chocolates start turning up with threatening cards and human hearts the police have to take action, although nothing is said to upset the town in their time of festivities. The local bartender warns there will be trouble if the town celebrates but the young townsfolk laugh off his claims saying nothing will stop them HAVING a great time. That’s what they think.
There are no special extras to EXPLAIN any of this and the movie is all we get but if you’re interested in B-grade films, that’s all you really need.
