The Movie

I’ve got to admit that after the first movie ANALYZE this, I was a little disappointed in this movie. I guess sequel movies are never a good as the first and this movie follows the same pattern. Overall it’s not a bad movie and Billy Crystal fans wont be too disappointed as he gives a good performance here. However, some of the comedy is a little forced and the acting a wooden.

The whole movie relies heavily on Billy Crystal & Robert De Niro to hold the story together. All of the characters portrayed are stereotypical and at the mid point of the movie I found myself bored.

Much of the story is improbable and frustrating, the doctor who over medicates

himself, the patient who is not mentally ill, the gangsters who just step back into line after a lengthy absence from their “boss”.

There are some good laughs to be had, and it s not a bad video for a bit of light entertainment, but don’t rely on it to hold the audience captivated for the full length of the movie in a crowded lounge room.

The Extras

Special features on the DVD are great. There is a game which is pretty good and some extra footage from the making of the movie, including some outtakes which are quite funny. Add to this the director’s commentary which I found quite interesting, and as a package the DVD with the special features is OK!

Good for a rainy afternoon in.
