For all the fans of the superheroes! This is a great story and it follows pretty closely the original concept and comic series of the

Daredevil. Daredevil Matthew is blind from an accident as a small child. He has subsequently sharpened all his other senses, so that

Matthew is not handicapped by his blindness and is able to “see” with his other senses and great instinct. The clever use of computer animation enables us to see what the Daredevil sees.

Daredevil posses other super powers such as the ability to tell if people are lying. He exploits his power shamelessly but it OK he only uses it for “good”. Daredevil grows up to become a lawyer by day and a vigilante by night. His hours of training pay off and he is a force to be reckoned with. He hunts criminals in the dark, where he has the upper hand. Whilst he is sure what he is doing is right, Matthew has to struggle with the knowledge that revenge can be dangerous and is not the only answer. Daredevil searches for answers to his own life, and he is forced to change his ways when he meets a girl and falls in love with her. The usual struggle of good versus evil follows as the story unfolds.

The DVD has some great fight scenes and the story is all action. Comic books fans will be pleased with this DVD. As with any of these super hero stories it get a little bit predictable, but the action makes up for the storyline.

THE EXTRAS

This came as a two DVD set - the first DVD containing the movie and the second containing special features.

The special features include:

The making of Daredevil and the choosing of the cast. There is a screen test by the love interest in Daredevils life and some footage of the director explaining how & why certain features of the movie exist.

It also contains is a film clip of the title song & some footage of the virtual world of Daredevil. And the original movie trailers and promotional clips. Whist its not boring, and you wouldn’t rush out to buy it just for the special effects , it is a good “bonus”.
