Thunderpants
For all of you who love crass toilet humour full of fart related jokes this is the movie to watch. Patrick Smash is a poor little boy who is born with two stomachs uncordially for him one of his stomachs churns out gas all day leaving Patrick with an uncontrollable and definitely socially unacceptable problem. Patrick’s only friend is Alan A Allen, a little boy with an enormous brain and absolutely no sense of smell. Patrick’s life is awful, his father left when he was a baby because he couldn’t stand Patrick’s problem any more, his sister is a stuck up bitch who just hates Patrick for ruining her life, and his mother is a closet alcoholic who drinks to cope with excessive wind. Patrick is bullied at school by both teachers and students. Except for his
friendship with Alan, he has very little happiness in his world.
All this changes one day when Alan decided to invent something to help Patrick with his flatulence. Alan makes thunderpants that are able to contain all the gas in a special holding chamber cleverly disguised as a lunchbox. Alan’s inventions progress from there and before too long Patrick is putting his gas to work powering flying cars. When the two boys team up to win a flying competition Alan is offered a scholarship and leaves town. Patrick is devastated and vows to travel around the world looking for Alan. But it is Alan who tracks Patrick down when he once again needs Patrick’s special talents to power a rocket into outer space.
This is a story for all boys who don’t really care about plots or underlying content & just want to see a whole LOAD of fart jokes tied together with the use of sight humour. I must admit it really is a kids story, and there were times when I found my mind wandering. I struggled to watch it to the end. As the plot lacked continuity and probability. However, I have two boys aged 5 & 8 and they thought it was hilarious and its been in and out of the DVD player several times since we got it.
THE EXTRAS
Patrick’s video Diary - kind of like a behind the scenes with a home video camera, don’t rush to the end just to get to this but if
you’ve got nothing else to do…….
Deleted scenes- once again more of the same, but a few laughs to be had here
Director & crew Commentary. This was interesting contained interviews with the stars and gave their perspective of each character.
Theatrical trailer. exactly what you would expect it to be.
