Good Advice
Ryan (Charlie Sheen) is an inconsiderate man bereft of morals or principals. When Ryan is set up by one of his many enemies he looses; all his money, his shallow insensitive girl friend (Denise Richards), and his job, and is forced to realise that things have to change. Ryan hits rock bottom, and through a string of funny co-incidences, ends up taking over his ex-girlfriend’s “Ask Cindy” Agony Aunt column. Ryan deliberalty misleads the editor of the magazine (Angie Harmon) and she believes that Cindy is still working from home. The Column is a brilliant success and Ryan falls in love with the editor, of course Ryan is then torn between telling the truth and risking everything.
This is a really funny movie. The cast is fantastic and there is some really clever humour. There is great supporting performances by Rosanna Arquette John Lovits, they play a married couple who are best friends with Ryan and Cindy. The story is set up well and you can’t help hoping that Ryan will be able to stop his precariously built house of cards from falling down around him. This is not a movie where you will say to your friends “oh you have just got to watch this” but for a movie fan like me, it was a nice way to spend 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon, & I didn’t feel that I had wasted my time.
THE EXTRAS
Movie Trailer- just more of the same……
Behind the scenes footage-
This was a tad boring and came across as an opportunity for the cast and crew to “talk up” the movie. There was nothing new or fabulous so don’t expect any great or revealing moments. It seemed to be a bit scripted and forced.
