The Vicar of Dibley

Episode 1 Arrival.

Dibley is a quiet little village the congregation of the local church are in mourning for their vicar, who has passed away at the age of 102. The young Reverend Geraldine Granger is not the type of Vicar they are expecting to REPLACE old reverend Pottle. To say the recently ordained reverend Granger is a culture shock would understate her arrival totally. In this episode you meet all the village characters and at times you can be excused for believing this is the ultimate village for idiots. Poor Reverend Granger is forced to swallow her pride and heaps of chocolate, in ORDER to survive this parish.

Episode 2 Songs of Praise.

The Vicar is invited to take part in the TV SHOW “Songs of Praise”. The Vicar and her parish will be filmed during a “normal” Sunday service, to be viewed by “millions”. This funny episode sees the vicar interviewing for a choir and the usually empty church is packed with a congregation of wannabees.

Episode 3 Community Spirit

The annual Dibley fair is on and pressure is on the Vicar to make it the most successful one yet. Alice the loveable but really stupid parish assistant tells the vicar that her cousin Reg will open the fair if she asks him to. The Vicar believes that Alice’s cousin Reg is Elton John and all hell breaks loose because of this mix up.

Episode 4 The Window and the Weather

A storm has damaged the beautiful stained glass window in the church and the vicar is on a mission to raise the eleven thousand pounds required to REPLACE it. The vicar will stop at nothing and arranges to meet with some of the wealthy local businessmen to ask for help.

Episode 5 Election

The local council elections are on again and the vicar wants to bring about a little community justice by insisting that the elected council introduces a promised bus service. The vicar, through her comments, unwittingly becomes a candidate in the election.

Episode 6 Animals

The Vicar after conducting a funeral for a pet mouse, decides its time she had a special service for the animals of the village. Despite the misgivings expressed by some members of the parish, and the bad press she receives, the service goes ahead, in true Dibley Style, & the Vicar is in danger of loosing her parish, because of this.

174 minutes of hilarity.
