Hello Again

Lucy Chadman (played by Shelly Long) is dull and boring, she has no career and is the ultimate clumsy housewife, married to an up and coming doctor who wants to be a famous plastic surgeon, Lucy just doesn’t fit the part of the glamorous wife. Lucy is trying to change and is in the process of a wardrobe makeover when she tragically chokes on a spicy chicken ball and dies. When Lucy’s enlightened sister Zelda, figures out a way to bring Lucy back from the dead exactly one year later, too many things have changed. Dr Chadman has remarried Lucy’s glamorous best friend Kim and is living the life he always wanted including working as head of surgery at a large hospital. Lucy’s son has married and owns his own restaurant, and Lucy is forced to realise that she cannot return to the life she once lead and must find a new life for herself.

Zelda’s death defeating spell, attracts a media circus that turns everybody’s life upside down and whilst all this is happening Lucy has just 1 month to find true love or the spell with be reversed.

This movie is great - set in the 80’s the costumes are a bit dated so it’s good for a laugh just seeing Shelly long dressed up in a bubble skirt, but all that aside it’s a good escape type movie where you can sit back and “believe” all that is happening, and be thoroughly entertained. There are some clever comedic moments and some really great sight gags to be had in this movie Shelly Long is brilliant at playing a clumsy housewife who sits in people’s dinner and treads on the hem of her skirt making is fall down etc.

It’s not the type of movie that will win academy awards but is not a bad way to spend 92 minutes on the weekend.
