Dreamcatcher
I did hear bad things about this movie but didn?t believe it was as bad as I had heard. Well for the first time ever watching a movie I thought I?ll just fast forward 5 or 10 minutes. I didn?t though. Four best mates save a mentally challenged boy from three tough boys. To thank them for their friendship he gives them all a gift of knowing what the others are thinking. They know everything that happens in their life is for a very good reason but they can never understand how important their experiences really are. The script obviously read really well on paper, Being a Stephen King film you?d expect some suspenseful moments.
The start was very slow and I started to get really impatient, then some short scenes kept me interested, then I began laughing for all the wrong reasons. The visual effects are not the best yet and unfortunately it seems films like this can?t even be classified as a good old B-grade horror flick. They?re just too bad and too much money was spent on it. The quite experienced actors just seemed to have too much time on their hands, or maybe they owed someone a favour. I?m still trying to work out why this was so bad, I know the camera work didn?t help.
Overall: Bad movie gets worse when the aliens try to take over the wrong body. It really was a bad movie.
THE EXTRAS
Extras include some deleted scenes and an original ending. They
obviously knew it was a bad movie and did try to salvage it with a dramatic ending, to no avail. They?ve also included interviews with the special effects team discussing how the ideas came together for the movie. Then you have an interview with the man himself Stephen King. I wasn?t sure whether he was trying to explain himself or what but if you enjoy the movie you might enjoy the extras.
