My Blue Heaven
Just about anything with Steve Martin and Rick Moranis is guaranteed to be good for a few laughs and this DVD is no exception. Steve Martin plays Vinnie Antonelli an FBI informant and ex mob member now on the witness protection program. Rick Moranis plays FBI agent Barney Coopersmith who is in charge of Vinnie’s case and is personally responsible for Vinnie’s safety. All seems to be going well when Barney moves Vinnie and his wife to suburban nowhere, Barney return to New York City and Vinnie returns to the only thing he knows - Crime.
Vinnie’s wife is not a suburban type of girl and returns to New York on the first train leaving Vinnie to fend for himself. Vinnie meets Hannah, the Assistant DA (played by Joan Cusack) when he is caught stealing a car and Barney rushes to Vinnie’s rescue assuring Hannah that this will not happen again and that no charges would be necessary.
For Barney, the pain of “minding” Vinnie has just begun, as Vinnie has decided to help Barney change his life, but the last thing Barney needs right now is for Vinnie to help him.
This DVD is good for a few laughs, the mood is light and it is perfect for a light-hearted movie. Just what I was looking for after the last weekend of the school holidays, running for 91 minutes and with no bonus features this is an uncomplicated simple story that expects nothing from its viewer and is purely there to entertain.
THE EXTRAS
No bonus features just scene selection and sub-titles
