Friends Series 9

I love Monday nights, but don?t ring me or try to visit because ?Friends? is on the TV and I am simply not available, so this will probably explain why I was so excited to find the Friends TV series was (slowly) being released to DVD. For all the loyal fans of Friends, Series Nine is finally available to purchase. This comes in a beautifully presented 3 disc boxed set and features the whole 23 episodes.

I guess most people have heard of the small hit TV series called Friends, its basically the story of 6 friends and their tangled lives. Each of the friends is a different personality and bring to the show their own special neurosis and shortcomings. The humorous look at the lives of these six ?thirty something?s? is hilarious. The characters all suffer a bit from stereotyping but it seems to fit nicely with the story and the series is such a success that I dare not comment. But for many of us the weekly antics of; Phoebe, Monica, Ross, Chandler, Rachel and Joey cannot be missed.

I?m not going into great detail about the 24 episodes contained here other than to list them later - fans will know what they are and people new to the show will wonder what I?m talking about, and I believe doing that would take away all the surprises of the DVD. (not to mention take about 20 pages of typing) However, I will say that, this series covers just about everything from, the first few months of parenting, the rush to the paediatrician, the hilarious quest to find a suitable nanny, the never ending sleepless nights to the difficult sister and the quest for a baby when all your friends have one. No big issues are spared and Friends even covers the sensitive issues of plastic surgery (oh well someone gets a boob job?) Series 9 is one of my favourites, the friends have matured and are entering into a new phase in their lives, they have more than just themselves to worry about. Lots of grown up stuff, proposals wedding & babies?.

The boxed set in of three discs eight episodes on each disc, four on either side of the disc. So if like me you are wondering where the other four episodes are, just flip the disc over to the other side. (See you learn something new every day?). Distributed by Warner these three discs are high quality and both the sound and picture reflect this. This is a set well worth adding to your collection, the series is funny the first time and hilarious the second time. Definitely something you can watch a few times more.
