Showgirls
Nomi Malone (Berkley) is running from her past and seeks fame in Las Vegas. This is about all of the story you need to know as I would be surprised if any one bought or hired this film for it’s plot. A few years prior to this film, Director Paul Verhoeven delivered Basic Instinct, a brilliant thriller, superbly directed, beautifully shot and sexually sizzling. This time he achieves the impossible within 15 minutes of this 2 hour yawn by making nudity boring. Fresh from teenage TV show “Saved by the Bell” Elizabeth Berkley shows us her body and little else as her thoroughly unlikeable character sleazes her way to the top of the Vega Showgirl scene.
As for the other actors, Im sure they would all like to disown their involvement in this movie (made quite obvious by the lack of extras)
This film can’t even fall into the “it’s so bad it’s good” category. I would highly recommend this disc as a present for a girlfriend who you want to break up with but haven’t got the guts to dump.

The usual extras where no one involved wants to be involved.

I suffered over two hours of the movie and was not prepared to endure any more.
The US do have a deluxe edition which features drinking games, cards, shot glasses. It owuld need to also come with the Star Wars box set to make it worth purchasing.
CONCLUSION
It takes a lot of talent and money to make a film this bad. Brilliant director Paul Verhoeven (Robocop, Total Recall, Basic Instinct) rejoins with Basic Instinct writer Joe Eszterhas to deliver what has to be one of the worst films of all time.
