Wrong is Right
A famous TV reporter with links to the powerful and famous gets involved in the battle for supremacy in an Arab country that has just discovered oil. The King becomes a very powerful member of the international society and fortunately for his subjects is a rather benevolent ruler. He is opposed by a violent terrorist intent on seizing power. Our TV reporter inadvertently helps the terrorist take power by passing the King a camera with poison on the shutter button.
Rafique the terrorist is also a dirty player, prepared to buy 2 atom bombs from a seedy arms dealer only interested in the money. He takes power on the death of the King but still harbours desires to use the two bombs. Fortunately or the world the USA is prepared to take him on and with the help of our intrepid reporter is about to win the day when the film finishes.
I could write more but the film doesn?t deserve it. It is almost embarrassing to see people of the calibre of Connery, Neilsen and Ross have to deal with the poor script the writers dished up. There are parodies of terrorists, a ?make war? general on the American side, a politician misusing power and assorted other characters written to the depth of about 1 millimetre. The film should have been called Wrong is Wrong. I am sure that none of those involved would be proud to mention their involvement, even to their own families.
THE EXTRAS
There are trailers for Dr Strangelove (in keeping with the A-bomb theme, perhaps?), Finding Forrester (Connery) and First Knight (Connery again).
CONCLUSION
Will the terrorist get hold of the A-bombs from the seedy arms dealer and hold the world to ransom? Will the famous TV reporter help the President save the day? Will anyone remember this film ten seconds after they finish?
