Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus

Barbie is back ?..In 3D! Barbie returns for yet another fantastic movie length fairytale, this time she tells the story of Pegasus the winged horse. Young Princess Annika?s life has been one big mystery, her parents are overly protective and she is very rarely allowed out on her own. On her birthday Annika is determined to find out what is going on, she leaves the castle on her own to think. Annika finds a little polar bear named shiver and the two become friends.

When Annika returns to the castle with Shiver things have gone terribly wrong; An evil wizard has placed a spell on the castle and frozen all the people, Annika is about to suffer the same fate when she is rescued by a beautiful pink winged horse. The lovely winged horse tells Annika that she is her long lost sister Brietta who was transformed into a horse by a curse from the same wizard that cursed Annika?s castle. The two sisters decide to try to break the curses by building a special wand of light. The wand of light will take all the courage hope and bravery they can muster.

The two sisters follow the clues and slowly piece all the puzzles together with the help of their newly found friends, but will they have enough time to break the curse before it takes hold permanently?

My girls have eagerly awaited the release of this movie and were delighted with it. This new Barbie movie is a wild adventure ride that young girls (and Boys) will love! My children are aged 5 to 10 and all sat spellbound whilst this story was on. The plot is well thought out and has enough depth to make a great tale without being too complicated. The animation is the usual high standard that we have all come to expect from the Barbie series, and the inclusion of a 3D component was magical. The screen is constantly filled with magical colour and wonders and will delight children for years to come. The 3D segments are announced by a little polar bear icon on the screen advising kids to put there glasses on or off and this really gives the feeling of being a part of the movie.

The movie is exceptional and although I loved all the Barbie movies so far this is definitely my favourite. In a clever blend of new and old this story encompasses some of the world?s great stories and myths and bundles them all into one wonderful tale. I know this will get several runs on the TV before my kids are bored with this.

Well worth the wait this DVD is a must have in every child?s home collection, and perfect or anyone seeking a gift for a young child.
