Shadow Man
‘Shadow Man’ is the latest DVD release from Steven Seagal. It tells the tale of an ex intelligence agency operative who is forced back into action one last time - as does almost every other movie Seagal has made recently. This time around though, the film is maybe a bit better written than most direct-to-dvd efforts and Seagal himself seems to be a little fitter and more prepared to wade into the action rather than relying on a stunt double.
I really think that Steven Seagal is an underrated and underutilised talent. I don’t know where he went wrong but I think he could have been the next big action star and was capable of better than the direct-to-dvd fare he’s been serving us in past years.
On the other hand, I guess he’s making more than enough cash out of the die hard fan base he has without being too caught up in the Hollywood machine.
The DVD itself doesn’t offer anything much in the way of extras so if you’re getting this disc it has to be for the film, and in this case it’s an ok outing and a not too bad way to kill a Saturday afternoon.
Verdict: Not his worst (5/10)
