Paramount Drop Support for Blu-Ray

In a surprise move, Paramount have decided to drop support for Blu-ray and will now be releasing exclusively on HD DVD.  So that’s titles like Shrek The Third and Transformers that we won’t be seeing on Blu-ray. Can’t say I saw that one coming…

maybe if you weren’t so blu-ray focussed and opened your eyes a little, you may have? slice of pie for Mr & Mrs Kirkland?

Can’t say I’ve ever considered myself to be Blu-ray focused. I personally don’t care which format wins but right now I get 20 press releases about BD for every one I get about HD DVD and even then the HD DVD press releases tend to be very vague and along the lines of “We’re going to do better real soon now…”.

If anyone has some cool HD DVD news to balance the BD stuff, let me know and I’ll include it in the podcast.
